Celebrating International Women’s Day in Gibraltar
We’re so proud to have supported ‘All About Women’ a full programme of events showcasing the creative talent of women in Gibraltar. Our partnership with The Gibraltar Academy of Performing Arts (GAMPA) saw Zoe Bishop, Alex Menez, Hannah Mifsud, Tanya Santini McClelland and many other inspiring women step centre stage.
From art exhibitions to music, dance, comedy, videos, and discussion ‘All About Women’ was a visually stunning, immersive, and thought-provoking programme marking International Women's Day.
A highlight of the week was WOMANHOOD. Written directed, choreographed, and performed by women, the show packed in themes of sisterhood, motherhood and the experience of being a woman. All through the contrasting mediums of dance, spoken word and comedy. The audience spoke of tears, laughter, and every emotion in between.
Ending the full week of events, young Gibraltarians came together at City Hall to discuss #equity for women. Led by Parasol Foundation Trustee Advisor, Nyreen Llamas, the panel discussed different views and personal experiences of equality and equity. Themes explored included representation, working in male-dominated fields, education, gender bias, STEM, childcare while working full-time and the big question of whether equity will be reached in the near future.
We’re passionate about creating opportunities for women and supporting the Gibraltar community. Working with GAMPA who empower and promote women in the arts was a natural choice and we’re grateful for all the hard work, energy the team invested in creating and bringing the programme to life.
