New Parasol Foundation Program Invests In Leaders Of Tomorrow
New class of 2024 in Washington DC

Three talented female students have been selected to benefit from a new Parasol Foundation program in partnership with Advanced Leadership Foundation which aims to help create the social, political and business leaders of tomorrow.

The trio of STEM post-graduate students, two from Gibraltar and one from Israel have a life-changing career opportunity in Washington DC as participants in the Emerging Leaders Shadowing Program. They will receive two months of intensive mentoring by experts and customised career coaching from Luisa Solarte, founder of the successful enterprise Mappingup all while experiencing what it’s like to live in one of the world’s most famous cities.

Batsheva Schischa, who already has a Master’s in cancer medicine and clinical oncology and a first degree in human genetics, wants to explore the world of finance, mentored by Yanire Braña after a recent online finance course sparked her interest. Nikkei Carreras, who has a master’s from UCL in nanotechnology and regenerative medicine will be mentored by leading cancer specialist Naroa Gimenez Camino. Romi Mayo who is a biomedical engineer and brain science student wants to understand the pharmaceutical industry better and is being mentored by Andrew Braner, an entrepreneur with extensive knowledge of the field.

We need more women to pursue careers in STEM. They say, ‘you have to see it, to be it’. We hope that this program will take their career to the next level and their adventurous spirit will inspire the next generation of young women to follow in their footsteps.
